Dr. Marelli is Professor of Medicine, Director of Cardiovascular Research and Associate Director of Academic Affairs for Cardiology at the McGill University Health Centre. She is trained in Adult and Pediatric Cardiology with advanced training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the University of California in Los Angeles. She completed a Master in Public Health at Harvard University with a focus on methodology for large databases and health information technology. She founded and directs the McGill Adult Unit for Congenital Heart Disease. Dr. Marelli has written a book and over 120 papers and book chapters on congenital heart disease. She lectures internationally on topics related health services quality, policy and big data. Her research has been supported by the CIHR, the HSF and the FRQ-S and the NIH. She has received reports of invention from the McGill Office of Technology for disease specific software solutions. She serves on leadership councils at the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology where she has received awards of excellence.
