Margarita Brida was born on the 29th of December 1981 in Zagreb where she finished elementary school and Mathematics Gymnasium. At the same time, she attended elementary and secondary music school. In 2006, she graduated from University of Zagreb; in 2012 she completed her specialization and became a specialist in Internal Medicine, and in 2016 she completed specialization in Cardiology. The same year, 2016, she finished her doctoral postgraduate study in “Biomedicine and Health” at the University of Zagreb. She underwent two-year Fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the University Hospital Muenster, Germany (2016) and Royal Brompton Hospital London, UK (2017). She is currently working as a Consultant Cardiologist at the only tertiary Centre for Adult Congenital Heart Disease in Croatia, and she is a Vice President of the Croatian Society of Cardiology Working Group for Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Furthermore, she holds a visiting research position at Imperial College of London and Royal Brompton Hospital. She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific and professional papers.
