Massimo Chessa was born on the 9th of July 1967 in Sardinia (Italy) In 1992, he graduated from Catholic University of Rome; in 1996 he completed his specialization and became a specialist in Pediatry. He then Move to Paris where he pass his Diplome Universitaire de Cardiologie Pediatrique Universitè Rénè Descartes,Post-graduate School of Pediatric Cardiology Paris V and worked as Research and Clinical fellow at the Necker Enfents Malades (1996-1998). He Spend 3 more years between the National Institute of Research (Massa Italy) and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and finalized his PhD dedicated to Interventional Approach to CHD from Fetal to Pediatric. He is working from 2000 as Interventional Consult at the IRCCS- Policlinico San Donato Paediatric Cardiology Department and Adult with Congenital Heart Defect Unit. After a short period as Visiting fellow in the GUCH Unit at Brompton Hospital (Dr M. Gatzoulis) and at the Heart Hospital (J. Deanfield) London (UK), he started a program dedicated to ACHD in San Donato Milanese in 2003. He became also Specialist in cardiology. Elected Chairman of the ACHD working group of the European Society of Pediatric Cardiology (AEPC) (2014-2017). Elected Nucleus Member (2010-2014) of the Working Group of Adult with congenital Heart Disease (WG 22) of the European Society Of Cardiology (ESC). Ex-Officio member of the 22 Working Group of Adult with congenital Heart Disease (WG 22) of the European Society Of Cardiology with the task to coordinate the GUCH-ACHD Book Series. Elected Nucleus Member (2017-2019) of the GUCH WG of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC). Elected Regional Counselor of Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC) (2017-2019). President and Founder of AICCA (Italian GUCH Association).
